Daily COVID-19 infections rise with 2 deaths and 238 new cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced an increase in the number of daily COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. The national health agency recorded two deaths and 238 new cases.

Lagos state, the epicenter of the pandemic in Nigeria, recorded 181 cases while Akwa Ibom recorded 45, Oyo 8, and Ogun 2. Ekiti and the FCT recorded one each.

The latest development brings the total number of cases to 170,122. Among these, there have been 164,476 recoveries and 2,130 deaths.

During the announcement of the COVID-19 report, NCDC noted that the multi-sectoral national emergency operations center (EOC) has been activated at Level 2 and is fully operational.
