Nigerian Army announces burial of Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, others

The Nigerian Army has announced the burial plans for late Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru and six other officers who died in a plane crash in Kaduna state.

The army in a statement issued by Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima, director Army Public Relations, on Saturday explained that they will be laid to rest at the National Military Cemetery.

“The Burial proceedings of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Late Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru and 6 other senior officers who lost their lives in an air mishap in Kaduna is slated for today Saturday, 22 May 21,” he said in the statement.

“It will commence at the National Mosque and National Christian Centre, Abuja by 1000hrs respectively.

“Consequently, the interment for the late COAS and 6 other senior officers will take place at the National Military Cemetery, Abuja today by 1300hrs.

“You are please requested to detail your media crew to cover the event,” the statement inviting the media said.
