Kidnappers: Lagos PDP chairman regains freedom Kuriga

Kidnappers have abducted three construction workers working on the Ikaram-Akunnu-Akoko highway linking Akoko Northwest and Akoko North East local governments areas.

The road is a major gate way for travellers plying the North and the South West region.

Ondo Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Raimi Aminu, had last week inspected the 16km road and promised that it would be completed in 60 days.

It was gathered the gunmen struck on Tuesday afternoon and shot sporadically before taking the workers away.

No ransom demand had been made as at press time.

Aminu said the abduction would delay construction of the road.

Ondo Police spokesman, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed the abduction and said all security agencies have been deployed to the bush to ensure release of the victims.

He said hunters were also engaged to help comb the forest.
