Funmilayo Adeosun, 25, has revealed the grisly killing of her father during the EndSARS protest, on October 20, 2020 in the Mushin area of Lagos.
The mother of one gave evidence before the Lagos State Judicial Panel on Restitution for Victims of SARS Related Abuse and Other Matters on Tuesday. She was the second witness to testify in the matter, after the deceased’s first wife Kudirat.

According to the witness, some policemen attached to Olosan Police Station shot her father Adeshina Adeosun dead. She told the panel that the deceased, a taxi driver, was in company of his friends when the incident happened.

“Some boys made to rescue him, but police officers from Olosan Police Station were shooting persistently. I knelt on the main road, raised my hands and pleaded with the officers to allow us rescue and give him first aid”, said the witness. The woman said the policemen refused, while one corked and aimed his gun at her.

The woman said the policemen knew her father and herself, because the taxi park he operated from is few meters away from the police station.

“Despite being shot at about 12pm, my father did not die immediately. At about 4pm, we saw policemen we knew dragging him on the tarred road into their station. I think he said something to them at some point, looked back and was waving at us until he was out of sight.”

Asked by the petitioner’s counsel O.A Lema if he knew the name of the police officers, the lady said residents only knew them by their sobriquets. She gave the sobriquets as Osha, Gbakoje (the DPO), and Abbey.
