Nigeria announces 1398 new coronavirus cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 1,398 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Wednesday.

The 1,398 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases to 103,999.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 981 patients from isolation centers across the country with nine new deaths reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 542 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 37,852.

Federal Capital Territory recorded 131 new cases, Oyo state recorded 120, Rivers reported 113, Plateau had 111 while Kaduna state reported 71 new cases.

Other states are Kwara-71, Akwa Ibom-34, Sokoto-31, Benue-28, Ogun-27, Kano-26, Kebbi-17, Osun-12, Nasarawa-11, Delta-10, Gombe-10, Bayelsa-9, Borno-9, Edo-8, Ekiti-3, Jigawa-2 and Katsina-2.

NCDC reports that there are 103,999 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 82,555 discharged and 1,382 deaths.
