Nigeria announces 1244 new coronavirus cases

Lassa fever claims 162 lives - NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 1,244 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Monday.

The 1,244 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases to 101,331.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 461 patients from isolation centers across the country with three new deaths reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 774 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 36,875.

Federal Capital Territory recorded 125 new cases, Plateau recorded 102, Anambra reported 47, Ondo had 46 while Rivers state reported 27 new cases.

Other states are Edo-18, Kaduna-16, Ogun-16, Gombe-16, Bauchi-11, Kano-11, Nasarawa-10, Akwa Ibom-7, Sokoto-7, Borno-5, Ekiti-4 and Zamfara-2.

NCDC reports that there are 101,331 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 80,491 discharged and 1,361 deaths.
