Nigeria announces 930 new coronavirus cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 930 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Wednesday.

The 930 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 75,062.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 281 patients from isolation centers across the country with no new death reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 279 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 25,436.

The Federal Capital Territory recorded 179 new cases, Plateau state reported 62, Kaduna state had 54, Kano reported 52 while Katsina 52 new cases.

Other states are Imo-42, Jigawa-42, Rivers-38, Kwara-30, Nasarawa-19, Yobe-15, Ogun-13, Borno-10, Oyo-9, Niger-9, Ebonyi-6, Bauchi-6, Edo-5, Taraba-4, Sokoto-2 and Cross River-2.

NCDC reports that there are 75,062 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 66,775 discharged and 1,200 deaths.
