Nigeria announces 749 new coronavirus cases

Hepatitis B: NGO begins free vaccination in police barracks, hospitals in Abuja

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 749 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Monday.

The 749 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 85,560.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 279 patients from isolation centers across the country with 3 new deaths reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 299 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 29,184.

Plateau state recorded 131 new cases, Kaduna state reported 83, FCT reported 74, Kwara state reported 35, Sokoto state reported 26 while Edo announced 18 new cases.

Other states are Kano-17, Delta-11, Nasarawa-10, Ondo-9, Bauchi-9, Rivers-5, Akwa Ibom-3, Jigawa-1, Osun-1, and Ekiti-1.

NCDC reports that there are 85,560 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 71,937 discharged and 1,267 deaths.
