Nigeria announces 806 new coronavirus cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 806 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Friday.

The 806 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 77,013.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 374 patients from isolation centers across the country with 11 new deaths reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 287 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 26,182.

The Federal Capital Territory recorded 255 new cases, Kaduna state reported 36, Akwa Ibom state had 29, Katsina reported 25 while Rivers 25 new cases.

Other states are Kwara-21, Bauchi-19, Kano-15, Ondo-14, Plateau-13, Yobe-12, Nasarawa-11, Ebonyi-9, Gombe-8, Abia-7, Delta-4, Imo-4, Osun-3, Anambra-2, Borno-2, Cross River-1, Edo-1, Ekiti-1, Jigawa-1 and Ogun-1.

NCDC reports that there are 77,013 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 67,484 discharged and 1,212 deaths.
