    Nigeria announces 58 new coronavirus cases

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 58 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Sunday.

    The 58 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 59,345.

    The NCDC also announced the discharge of 50 patients from isolation centers across the country with one new death reported.

    Plateau state recorded the most cases for the day with 18 positive cases announced by the NCDC.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 15 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 19651.

    • Nigeria announces 160 new coronavirus cases

    Katsina state reported 10 new cases, Ogun state recorded 5 while Kaduna state announced 4 new cases.

    Other states are Edo-3, Ekiti-1, Federal Capital Territory-1 and Ondo-1.

    NCDC reports that there are 59,345 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 50,768 discharged and 1,113 deaths.
