Nigeria announces 225 new coronavirus cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 225 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Tuesday.

The 225 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 60,655.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 63 patients from isolation centers across the country with one new death reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 165 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 20,251.

The Federal Capital Territory reported 17 new cases, Rivers recorded 13 while Ogun state announced 12 new cases.

Other states are Niger-8, Delta-4, Ondo-2, Anambra-1, Edo-1, Ekiti-1 and Kaduna-1.

NCDC reports that there are 60,655 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 52,006 discharged and 1,116 deaths.
