Nigeria announces 164 new coronavirus case

Lassa fever claims 162 lives - NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 164 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Monday.

The 164 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 60,430.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 208 patients from isolation centers across the country with no new death reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 64 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 20,086.

The Federal Capital Territory reported 26 new cases, Enugu recorded 20 while Ondo state announced 11 new cases.

Other states are Oyo-11, Plateau-8, Ondo-7, Anambra-4, Nasarawa-3, Osun-3, Ebonyi-2, Imo-2, Benue-1, Katsina-1 and Ogun-1.

NCDC reports that there are 60,430 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 51,943 discharged and 1,115 deaths.
