Nigeria announces 163 new coronavirus cases as Lagos infections rise

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday announced 163 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country as Lagos infections rise.

The 163 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 60,266.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 24 patients from isolation centers across the country with no new death reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 113 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 20,022.

Kaduna state reported 21 new cases, Osun recorded 8 while Ondo state announced 5 new cases.

Other states are Oyo-5, Ogun-3, Bayelsa-2, Taraba-2, Edo-1, FCT-1, Katsina-1 and Plateau-1.

NCDC reports that there are 60,266 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 51,735 discharged and 1,115 deaths.
