The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 153 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Thursday.

The 201 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 58,848.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 94 patients from isolation centers across the country with no new death reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 81 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 19542.

Deal of the day

Rivers state reported 21 new cases, Federal Capital Territory recorded 11 while Ogun state announced 8 new cases.

Other states are Kaduna-7, Oyo-6, Akwa Ibom-5, Osun-3, Katsina-3, Edo-2, Ebonyi-2, Nasarawa-2, Plateau-1 and Kano-1.

NCDC reports that there are 58,001 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 50,452 discharged and 1,112 deaths.
