Nigeria announces 133 new coronavirus cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 133 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Sunday.

The 133 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 61,440.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 4307 patients from isolation centers across the country with six new deaths reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 90 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 20,645.

Rivers state recorded 13 new cases, the Federal Capital Territory reported 8 new cases while Oyo state announced 8 new cases.

Other states are Oyo-6, Ondo-3, Katsina-2, Nasarawa-2 and Plateau-1.

NCDC reports that there are 61,440 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 56,611 discharged and 1,125 deaths.
