The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 118 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Tuesday.

The 118 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 59,583.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 357 patients from isolation centers across the country with one new death reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 41 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 19692.

Rivers state reported 19 new cases, Osun state recorded 17 while Nasarawa state announced 13 new cases.

Other states are Kaduna-5, Anambra-5, Edo-3, Ogun-3, Kwara-3, Ondo-3, Katsina-2, Niger-2, Plateau-1 and Akwa Ibom-1.

NCDC reports that there are 59,583 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 51,308 discharged and 1,113 deaths.
