Nigeria announces 97 new coronavirus cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 97 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Sunday.

The 97 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 57,242.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 138 patients from isolation centers across the country with one new death reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 46 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 18943.

Kwara state reported 12 new cases, Rivers state recorded 11, Adamawa – 4 while Niger announced 4 new cases.

Other states are Ogun-4, Osun-4, Ekiti-3, Imo-3, Kaduna-3, Plateau-2 and FCT-1.

NCDC reports that there are 57,242 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 48,569 discharged and 1,098 deaths.
