The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 239 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Tuesday.
The 239 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 54,247.
The NCDC also announced the discharge of 497 patients from isolation centers across the country with 10 new deaths reported.
Plateau state again reported the highest number of cases for the day with 116 new cases while the Federal Capital Territory recorded 33 cases.
Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 19 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 18157.
Ekiti state reported 12 new cases, Kaduna recorded 8 new cases while Ogun, Ebonyi and Benue recorded 11, 8 and 7 new cases respectively.
Other states are Abia-5, Delta-5, Ondo-4, Edo-3, Imo-2, Osun-2 and Bauchi-1.
NCDC reports that there are 54,247 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 42,247 discharged and 1,023 deaths.
