Nigeria announces 162 new coronavirus cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 162 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Saturday.

The 162 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 54,905.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 53 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 18308.

Gombe state reported 21 new cases, Oyo recorded 19 new cases while Delta, Ondo and Plateau recorded 12, 11 and 10 new cases respectively.

Other states are Ebonyi-9, FCT-6, Kwara-6, Kaduna-5, Rivers-3, Ogun-2, Anambra-2, Imo-2 and Ekiti-1.

NCDC reports that there are 54,905 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 42,922 discharged and 1,054 deaths.
