The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 156 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Friday.
The 156 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 54,743.
The NCDC also announced the discharge of 189 patients from isolation centers across the country with three new deaths reported.
Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 36 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 18255.
Federal Capital Territory reported 35 new cases, Oyo recorded 29 new cases while Kaduna, Abia and Osun recorded 10, 9 and 5 new cases respectively.
Other states are Ogun-5, Enugu-5, Rivers-4, Nasarawa-3, Ekiti-3, Imo-3, Edo-2, Kwara-2, Katsina-2, Plateau-2 and Niger-1.
NCDC reports that there are 54,743 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 42,816 discharged and 1,051 deaths.
