Nigeria announces 111 new coronavirus cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 111 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Wednesday.

The 111 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 57,724.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 149 patients from isolation centers across the country with two new deaths reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 31 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 19086.

Gombe state reported 18 new cases, Kaduna state also recorded 18 while the Federal Capital Territory announced 15 new cases.

Other states are Rivers-14, Imo-3, Kwara-3, Oyo-3, Bayelsa-2, Ogun-2, Edo-1 and Osun-1.

NCDC reports that there are 57,724 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 48,985 discharged and 1,102 deaths.
