Nigeria announces 437 new coronavirus cases

Lassa fever claims 162 lives - NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 437 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Sunday.

The 437 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 46,547.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 30 patients from isolation centers across the country with three new deaths reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 107 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 15875.

The Federal Capital Territory reported 91 new cases, Plateau recorded 81 new cases while Kaduna, Ogun and Kwara recorded 32, 30 and 24 new cases respectively.

Other states are Ebonyi-19, Ekiti-17, Oyo-8, Borno-6, Edo-6, Kano-4, Nasarawa-3, Osun-3, Taraba-3, Gombe-2 and Bauchi-1.

NCDC reports that there are 46,577 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 33,186 discharged and 945 deaths.
