Nigeria announces 322 new coronavirus cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 322 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Sunday with the death toll surpassing 1000.

The 322 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 52,227.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 178 patients from isolation centers across the country with five new deaths reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 130 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 17894.

Bauchi state reported 36 new cases, FCT recorded 25 new cases while Edo, Bayelsa and Ogun recorded 17, 14 and 14 new cases respectively.

Other states are Oyo-14, Anambra-13, Kaduna-12, Ondo-11, Abia-10, Osun-6, Plateau-5, Kwara-5, Kano-4, Ebonyi-3, Sokoto-2 and Borno-1.

NCDC reports that there are 52,227 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 38,945 discharged and 1002 deaths.
