Nigeria announces 250 new coronavirus cases

Lassa fever claims 162 lives - NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 250 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Saturday.

The 250 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 53,727.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 588 patients from isolation centers across the country with no new death reported.

Plateau state again reported the highest number of cases for the day with 69 news cases while the Federal Capital Territory reported 41.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 21 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 18077.

Delta state reported 14 new cases, Kaduna recorded 14 new cases while Bayelsa, Enugu and Ekiti recorded 13, 13 and 11 new cases respectively.

Other states are Bauchi-9, Ogun-8, Edo-7, Oyo-7, Rivers-6, Adamawa-4, Osun-4, Nasarawa-3, Ebonyi-2, Kwara-2, Gombe-1 and Imo-1.

NCDC reports that there are 53,727 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 41,314 discharged and 1,011 deaths.
