Nigeria announces 653 new coronavirus cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 653 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Saturday.

The 653 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 36107.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 646 patients from isolation centers across the country with nine new deaths reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria topped the number of confirmed cases with 115 new cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 13341.

Kwara recorded 85 new cases, Enugu reported 80 new cases while FCT, Rivers and Ondo recorded 78, 36 and 35 new cases respectively.

Other states are Oyo-30, Katsina-28, Kaduna-19, Abia-19, Nasarawa-18, Plateau-17, Imo-16, Ogun-9, Ebonyi-9, Benue-9, Kano-9, Delta-8, Bauchi-7, Ekiti-6, Gombe-4, Bayelsa-4, Adamawa-4, Osun-4, Cross River-1, Yobe-1, Borno-1 and Zamfara-1.

NCDC reports that there are 36107 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 14938 discharged and 778 deaths.
