Nigeria announces 543 new coronavirus cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 543 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Wednesday.

The 543 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 38344.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 138 patients from isolation centers across the country with eight new deaths reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria topped the number of confirmed cases with 180 new cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 13806.

Federal Capital Territory recorded 86 new cases, Kaduna reported 56 new cases while Edo, Ondo and Kwara recorded 47, 37 and 35 new cases respectively.

Other states are Ogun-19, Rivers-19, Kano-17, Ebonyi-16, Enugu-16, Delta-7, Bayelsa-4, Bauchi-3 and Abia-1.

NCDC reports that there are 38344 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 15815 discharged and 813 deaths.
