Nigeria announces 348 new coronavirus cases

Lassa fever claims 162 lives - NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 348 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Wednesday.

The 348 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed cases to 11166.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 90 patients from isolation centers across the country with one new death reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria topped the number of confirmed cases with 163 new cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 5440.

Federal Capital Territory reported 76 new cases while Ebonyi recorded 23 cases and Rivers state reported 21.

Other states are Delta-8, Nasarawa-8, Niger-8, Enugu-6, Bauchi-5, Edo-5, Ekiti-5, Ondo-5, Gombe-5, Benue-4, Ogun-2, Osun-1, Plateau-1, Kogi-1 and Anambra-1.

NCDC reports that there are 11166 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 3329 discharged and 315 deaths.
