BREAKING: APC NWC dissolved, Gov Buni appointed caretaker committee chairman

President Muhammadu Buhari recommended the dissolution of APC NWC

The current All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee has been dissolved at a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Thursday.

The decision to dissolve the NWC comes after a recommendation by President Muhammadu Buhari that it should be dissolved.

Meanwhile, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has just been appointed as the chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC)’s caretaker committee and extraordinary national convention.

Other members of the committee are Governor Abubakar Sani Bello (North Central) of Niger and Governor Isiaka Oyetola of Osun (South West).

Other members of the committee are Senator Ken Nnamani (South East); Stella Okorete (Women Rep); Dr. James Lalu (Person Living With Disability); Senator Abubakar Yusuf (Senate Rep); Hon. Akinyemi Olaide (House Rep); David Lyon (South South); Abba Ari (North West); Prof. Tahir Mamman (North East); Ismail Ahmed (Youth Rep) and Sen. Akpan Udoedehe (Secretary).

NEC also ratified all decisions taken in respect of Edo governorship primaries which means that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu remains the APC governorship candidate and Governor Godwin Obaseki remain disqualified.

Speaking after his appointment as APC caretaker chairman, Governor Buni said, “As a former two-term National Secretary, I know the party very well, and it’s all about doing justice to every member of the party.

“Without justice there won’t be peace. If you don’t manage crisis obviously crisis will manage you.”
