Two arrested for killing Ogboni leader

NPF denies ongoing recruitment on social media

Two persons have been arrested in connection with the killing of southwest leader of Ogboni fraternity, Chief Stephen Akinkunmi in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.

Chief Akinkunmi was killed yesterday at the premises of the Saint Stephen Hotel, Ore after he refused to enter his car as ordered by the hoodlums.

Cash worth over N2 million and other items belonging to the deceased were carted away by the assailants.

Brother of the deceased, Mr. Joshua Akindele said the gunmen lodged in the hotel for three days before carrying out the operation.

Wife of the deceased, Mrs Toyin Akinkunmi, urged security agents to protect her family as she had been receiving threat messages from some people.

Police spokesman Tee-Leo Ikoro confirmed the arrest of the two suspects and said the command has begun investigation into the incident.
