Nigeria announces 182 new coronavirus cases

Lassa fever claims 162 lives - NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 182 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Wednesday.

The 182 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed cases to 8915.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 91 patients from isolation centers across the country with five new deaths reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria topped the number of confirmed cases with 111 new cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 4123.

Sixteen new cases were reported in the Federal Capital Territory, 10 in Akwa Ibom and eight in Oyo state.

Kaduna and Delta recorded six new cases each while Rivers recorded five news cases.

Others are Ogun-4, Ebonyi-4, Kano-3, Plateau-2, Gombe-2, Kebbi-1, Kwara-2, Bauchi-1 and Borno-1.

NCDC reports that there are 8915 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 2592 discharged and 259 deaths.
