The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced the single highest number of COVID-19 cases since coronavirus pandemic broke out in the country.
The 238 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control is 34 cases more than the 204 announced on Thursday taking the new total to 2170.
Again, Kano topped the number of cases with 92 confirmed cases reported in the northern state and 36 in Federal Capital Territory.
Thirty cases were reported in Lagos and it was enough for the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria to cross the one thousand mark with a total of 1006 cases now.
On the 1st of May 2020, 238 new confirmed cases were reported with ten deaths in Nigeria.
The NCDC said no new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
According to the NCDC, “238 new cases were reported from 22 states across the country.
“Kano (92), FCT (36), Lagos (30), Gombe (16), Bauchi (10), Delta (8) and Oyo (6).
Other states are Zamfara (5), Sokoto (5), Ondo (4), Nasarawa (4), Kwara (3), Edo (3), Ekiti (3), Borno (3), Yobe (3), Adamawa (2), Niger (1), Imo (1), Ebonyi (1), Rivers (1), Enugu (1).
“A total of 351 cases have been discharged and 68 deaths have been recorded in 34 states plus the Federal Capital Territory.”
