    Gunmen abduct four in Delta

    Gunmen have abducted four persons along the Lagos-Asaba Road near Agbor town in Delta State, media reports have said.

    The incident took place at Boji-Boji Owa in Ika North-East Local Government Area of the state on Friday evening.

    The Railway Bridge area along the Benin-Onitsha expressway has come under hoodlums attack in recent times.

    It was learnt the abducted persons were inspecting a parcel of land around the area.

    A source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said: “The four victims were inspecting a parcel of land area the Railway Bridge when the gunmen with sophisticated weapons ambushed them. They dragged the victims to unknown destination.

    “Till this morning, we have not heard anything from the victims or their kidnappers.

    “Gunmen have been terrorising the area of late. The hoodlums are believed to be herdsmen who have laid siege to the route.”

    Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident, adding it was reported late Friday evening.

    She said the command has intensified efforts to rescue the victims from their abductors.
