FLASH: Lagos discharges seven coronavirus patients

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos providing update on coronavirus

The Lagos State Government has announced the discharge of seven coronavirus patients in the state after they tested negative twice to the virus.

This takes the total number of persons discharged to 58 in Nigeria.

Disclosing the development via his official Twitter account, Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu explained that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) will continue to trace more patients.

“Dear Lagosians, I bring you more good news from our Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba. Today, seven more patients; three females and four males were discharged to reconnect with the community after a full recovery and having tested negative twice consecutively for COVID-19.

He said, “This brings to 46, the number of patients successfully managed and discharged from our Yaba facility. So far, we have had 100 percent recovery from the COVID-19 cases we have admitted and managed at our isolation facilities.

“While we celebrate our successes, let us note that social distancing is important & non negotiable in the war against COVID-19. Stay at home, observe good personal hygiene and adhere strictly to advice from our health experts. Together, a COVID-19 free Lagos is possible.
