Come for COVID-19 test, Kano tells returnees

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano was re-elected for a second term

All returnees to Kano from anywhere with coronavirus (COVID-19) history must turn themselves in for test, the state government insisted on Sunday.

In a statement by Health Ministry’s spokesman Hadiza Namadi, the state also directed anyone with direct contact with confirmed cases to submit self for examination.

He urged all those who recently travelled to foreign nations and states, particularly those with the pandemic history to contact the ministry of health on the telephone through 09093995333 09093995444 and 08002684356.

The statement restated the resolve of the state to contain the spread of the disease, assuring that the state will not relent in its efforts in taking it advocacy campaign to all nooks and crannies.

Kano recorded its first positive index COVID-19 case when a retired career diplomat test positive for the virus.
