The Osun State Government has directed civil servants in the state to stay at home for two weeks as part of precautionary measures to forestall an outbreak of COVID-19.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji made this known in a statement made available to journalists in Osogbo, Osun capital on Monday night.
Oyebamiji noted that all officers from Grade Level 1–12 in all services of the State should proceed on two weeks leave beginning from Tuesday, 24th March 2020.
However, he added that officers who are on essential services are to report at their duties.
All officers on essential services in Health and Medical facilities, Environmental Sanitation, Fire Services, Water Corporation, and all other essential services, are to report for duty as usual.
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) there are currently 40 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria.
There are 28 cases in Lagos, seven in the Federal Capital Territory, two in Ogun, one in Ekiti, one in Oyo and one in Edo state.
