The Ondo State Police Command has stated that armed robbers and not herdsmen killed the daughter of Pa Reuben Fasoranti, during an attack on travellers on the Benin-Ore-Lagos expressway.
Mrs Funke Olakunrin, 58, along with others on Friday ran into a barricade earlier reported as that of suspected Fulani herdsmen who were believed to be terrorising motorists on the expressway.
But the Ondo Police Command has told the Presidency that preliminary findings indicate that the act was carried out by armed robbers.

In a condolence message, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said, “President Muhammadu Buhari condoles with Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, whose daughter, Mrs Funke Olakunrin was killed along Ondo-Ore road by those described as armed robbers by Ondo Police Command.
“He prays God to give Pa Fasoranti fortitude to bear the loss”.
