The Kaduna Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Hafiz Mohammed, on Wednesday in Kaduna, decorated eight newly promoted officers in the command.

Decorating the officers, Mohammed told them to regard their promotion as a call for more commitment, hard work and increased zeal in carrying out their responsibilities.

“You must, therefore, know that your status is not about decoration and a lift in salary. It is about more commitment, hard work, dedication and increased zeal as you carry out your duty.

“The nation needs you to fulfil your responsibilities professionally. You must, therefore, live up to expectations and contribute to achieving the vision and mission of FRSC,” he said.

The commander urged those that were not lucky to be promoted to be patient, stressing that promotion came from God at the appointed time.

He further enjoined them not to relent in carrying out their duties, but to continue to give in their best, adding that with hard work, commitment and dedication, victory would surely come.

Mohammad noted that the command had the highest number of promoted senior officers with seven out of the 64 newly promoted Deputy Corps Commander across the country.

He said that seven officers had been promoted to the rank of Deputy Corps Commander while a marshal in the command was converted to the officer’s cadre.

He identified the newly promoted Deputy Corps Commanders as Mukhtar Zubairu, Mohammed Bature, Lucy Ndahi, Adegbesan Abayomi, Usman Rabiu, Ludtsi Marcus and Appolina Uzor.

The commander said Francis Gregory was promoted from Marshal Inspector 1 to Assistant Route Commander.

Also speaking, the Zonal Commanding Officer in charge of Kaduna, Kano, Katsina and Jigawa, Assistant Corps Marshal Aliyu Datsama, congratulated the newly promoted officers.

Datsama commended the officers for making the zone stand out with the highest number of promoted officers in the last promotion exercise.

He said that 10 of the 64 promoted senior officers, out of the 331 that sat for the examination were from Kaduna Zone while seven were from Kaduna Command and three from Katsina Command.

“I am proud of you, because beyond passing the promotion examination, you have to be exceptionally good to be promoted, and you stood out among the best.

“But you must keep in mind that new rank comes with new and tasking responsibility,” he said.

One of the promoted officers, Zubairu Mukhtar, thanked the FRSC Board Members, the Corps Marshal, and the management of the corps for finding them worthy of promotion.
