President Muhammadu Buhari says he is not afraid of the elections because he campaigned vigorously across Nigeria while assuring Nigerians of a free and fair.

Buhari said this when he presided over an emergency meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus at the party’s national secretariat, Abuja.

He noted that the elections will be conducted peacefully in all the 176,000 polling stations, warning all those planning to disrupt the process.

In attendance at the caucus meeting were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the national leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and national chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole.

Others at the meeting were the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, APC members of the National Assembly,  APC State governors from Lagos, Niger, Zamfara, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, Jigawa, Borno, Bauchi and Kaduna.

“I want Nigeria to be respected. I am not afraid of the elections because I went round all the states,” he said warning those attempting to snatch ballot boxes.

He also had a message for INEC after the electoral body postponed the election earlier slated for 16 February.

“What is the need accepting incompetence? The constitutions and law protect INEC but they should take us for granted.

The National Assembly and the government did all they could to provide for INEC, therefore “we do not understand what has happened’’.

“We will need to go into details of what caused the postponement of the elections,’’ he said.
