
The Social Democratic Party, SDP, has expelled Professor Jerry Gana and has suspended former Cross River governor, Donald Duke with immediate effect.
The party, which endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term last week, also expelled its acting national chairman Supo Shonibare with immediate effect.
SDP’s Director of Media and Publicity, Yemi Akinbode, announced this at a news briefing in Abuja.

Akinbode said Gana and Shonibare were expelled for engaging in anti-party activities.

Shonibare was accused of being the arrowhead of a splinter group, Gana was accused of setting up a parallel National Executive Committee in the party.
Former SDP presidential candidate Donald Duke was accusing of being critical of the party and disrespecting the party.
