Maurizio Sarri has confirmed that Juventus striker, Gonzalo Higuain, is only hours from completing his transfer to Chelsea.

Sarri said the Argentine striker will not feature for the Blues when they play London rivals Tottenham in the second leg of the Carabao Cup on Thursday.

“Higuain is a few hours away from signing his contract at Chelsea,” Sarri said at a press conference.

“He is a very strong striker, especially in my first season in Naples. He did very well.

“For sure he is one of the best strikers in my career. He has the right experience to play here.”

He said he hopes the striker can start scoring straightaway, but he says there is plenty more to his game than goals.

Higuain played under Sarri at Napoli but has failed to shine at AC Milan where he is on loan.

“I hope I can get him back to his best form,” Sarri said.

On Eden Hazard, Sarri says he is a wonderful player but can still improve.

He adds he is a very instinctive player who wants the ball all the time and finds it hard to stay in one position.
