Ben Murray-Bruce has been given a tutorial on Constituency Projects after he tried yet again to evade the question on the status of N220m Zonal Intervention Projects nominated in 2018.

The senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District in the 8th Assembly for the umpteenth time declined to give transparency agency, Tracka, the status of the projects.

Murray-Bruce who was denied a second shot in the senate due to a zoning arrangement in his district, denied any involvement in the Constituency Projects.

In a tweet requesting the project status, Tracka tweeted, “Dear Sen @benmurraybruce, we are aware you nominated N220m zonal intervention projects in 2018 budget for Bayelsa East Senatorial District.

“What is the implementation status of these projects? Public funds must work for the people #AskQuestions.”

But Murray-Bruce was having none of it. He described Tracka’s honest request as a lie.

“If you fellows like, you can lie from now till eternity my answer wont change.

“I didn’t collect a penny, neither am I involved in any project. If indeed you‘re truly interested in accountability and not playing politics, go to the ministry that budgeted it,” he tweeted.

Nigerians then took it from there breaking down the question asked by Tracka and his role as a senator who have nominated projects.

Reacting to Murray-Bruce, Shuaibu wrote, “English is doing us bad, no one said you collected any penny or whatever. What is the “IMPLEMENTATION STATUS”….take your own advice and use common sense,” he tweeted.

Elis Adekunle shared similar sentiments as Shuaibu. “They are only asking you to be accountable. The funds you nominated, was it released? If released (necessarily not to you), was it used? If used, it is useful!, he quizzed the senator.

Dimeji Joseph tweeted, “So you did not lobby any project for your constituency for three and a half years as senator? Now I see why you will not be returning.”

Omotola Osiyemi kicked against Murray-Bruce’s response. “@benmurraybruce nominated this projects in question hence the need for him to speak on them. It shouldn’t be @TrackaNG ‘s duty to speak for him since they are not the ones representing that Senatorial District. He has a duty to his constituents!

Hamzat Seriff Ade also had a thing to say. ” If @TrackaNG tweet of PDP Senators or House of reps, it’s political motivated by APC. If @TrackaNG tweet of APC Senators or House of reps, it’s handwork of PDP. Only God can save us in this country from these politicians. “
