Osinbajo, Amaechi didn’t meet Obasanjo in Ota – Presidency
Presidency has denied that VP Yemi Osinbajo and Romiti Amaechi met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his base in Ota, Ogun state
The Presidency has dismissed claims making the round on social media that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Ota, Ogun state.
In a tweet to quell the rumours, Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President Office of the Vice President said the trio only met briefly at the airport.
He urged Nigerians to ignore the rumours, explaining that, it was only coincidental that the met at the airport.
“Ignore reports VP Osinbajo alongside Minister Amaechi held meeting with former President Obasanjo in Ota,” Akande said in a tweet.

“Yesterday, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on his way to Lagos, VP ran into the former President who had just landed. They exchanged pleasantries. Period,” he added.

There were claims in the social media and in some online media that they trio met and discussed how the former Nigerian President could possibly back the ruling All Progressives Congress.
