Access Bank appoints Roosevelt Ogbonna as GMD

Access Bank has appointed Roosevelt Ogbonna as Group Managing Director

Access Bank has appointed Mr Roosevelt Michael Ogbonna as the new Group Deputy Managing Director.

The bank made the announcement on 19 April 2017 in a letter titled ‘Stock Market Announcement’

According to the letter, Mr Roosevelt Michael Ogbonna was appointed as Group Deputy Managing Director to replace Mr Obinna Nwosu who recently resigned his appointment to pursue other personal endeavours.

“Mr Ogbonna is a consummate banking professional with over 19 years working experience across Treasury, Commercial and Corporate Banking,” the statement read.

“He has been the Group Executive Director, Commercial Banking Division since October 2013. He join Access Bank in 2002 from Guaranty Trust Bank Plc.

“The new Group Deputy Managing Director is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and holds a Second Class Upper Degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

“He has attended Executive Management Development Programmes on diverse areas of banking and management in world leading institutions.

“He is also a member of reputable professional organisations including the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and the Future Leaders Group of the Institute of International Finance.

“Roosevelt Ogbonna is a Non-Executive Director of Access Bank Zambia and The Access Bank United Kingdom Limited.

“The statement further explained that Ogbonna’s appointment has been approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Ogbonna who only celebrated his birthday on is expected to resume immediately.

Away from banking, Ogbonna seems to have passion for sports, cars and humanity.
